I'm free if you have
the time, I have the money
Hey, I’m so cute, I just need lots of hugs and sloppy
wet kisses. I promise I’ll love you forever plus be on my best behavior
if you give me a home. Six weeks ago I was happy and suckling with my five
brothers and sisters; sure we were living in the street, but that wasn’t
too hard, our mum was warm and always let us drink our fill and she kept
the dark scary things away. Then something bad happened, a strange two
legged animal came and took us away and shut us up in a small dark thing
and put us inside a growly monster the two legged called a truck, and then
dumped us off far away from mum and our street. We’re all still so sad
and frightened, we don’t think we’ll ever see Mum again.
We were left in the small dark thing for a day or more
with nothing to drink or eat, we were just starving and thought we were
going to die. All we could do was pee and poo on each other because there
was no way out of the small dark thing.
Then another two legged heard us crying and took us out
and fed us. His two legged mate didn’t want us because she said we make
her sick, she can’t breathe or something like that. I don’t know what
she meant because we can breathe around her, everyone can breathe can’t
they, even huggie little puppies like us?
Now they say we might be sold to the crocodiles if
there is no one to give us a home for a while. What is a crocodile like?
Can I play with them? I just love to play. I want somebody to love; so do
all my five brothers and sisters. My biggest brother Chew got lucky the
other day, a gorgeous little two legged called Amber with long yellow hair
said she loved him and wanted to take him home and let him sleep in her
bed. I hope we all get lucky like Chew too.
I want to go back to being warm at nights and curling
up happy to sleep with a full belly. I want to find a loving two legged to
be my mum instead, now that we have lost our real one. I want to play and
run and have fun like our mum told us we are supposed to. I promise to be
as good as a little puppy can and when I grow up to be a proper dog I will
look after my two legged mum and keep the scary dark things away from her
too, just like real mums do. Please give me a home, give us a chance. I
want to grow up fat and happy and a good little guy.

I am free, what a better present than me?
GIS Science Department
goes arty
After
intensive studying and successful completion of their Key Stage 3 SAT
examination, Year 9 students at Garden International School took the
opportunity to brighten up their science laboratory. By sketching a variety
of scientific subjects - from atoms and cells to the solar system - they
combined these images together to produce a 4m2 wall mural. It is visually
stunning and provides vivid stimulus for science throughout the whole
school, appealing to all ages 2 to 18. Well done to all the students
involved; Preedee, Phet, May-Lee, Ashley, Hyn-Jin, Neng and Boy. Special
thanks also to Mrs. Hobbs, Head of Art, for her technical expertise.

Two local men do
Pattaya proud
Narong Ratanasobha and Udomchok Churut, both physically
challenged and both from the Pattaya Redemptorist Vocational School,
earned silver medals in this year’s Abilympics held in Prague, Czech
Republic from 15-17 August.
Narong
Ratanasobha and Udomchok Churut (not shown) won silver medals at the 2000
Abilympics held this month in Prague.
Narong Ratanasobha received a silver medal for his
expertise in developing the Pattaya Redemptorist Vocational School
Web-site, and Udomchok Churut received a silver medal in the category of
computer assembly.
The Abilympics is held once every four years. The 5th
Abilympics was held in Prague from 15-17 August this year. Over 800 people
with physical disabilities competed in professional categories from 34
countries. The various categories included computer programming, computer
assembly and various other electronic related categories.
Narong and Udomchok’s silver medal performances
brought fame to both Pattaya and Thailand. Both were selected by the
Welfare Department and the Pattaya Redemptorist Vocational School to
represent Thailand. They received financial support from the Handicapped
Capability Improvement Fund and H.E. Sonthaya Khunpleum, Deputy Minister
of Interior, with additional support from other areas.
Narong said it was his first time competing and his
silver medal was the first ever for Thailand. Both men said they were very
proud to be representing their country. They asked in return, only to be
socially accepted and afforded the opportunity of finding employment,
along with many other handicapped persons in Thailand who are fully
capable of professionally contributing in the work force.
