Elephant run down by train Mahout blames himself for carelessness
Phang Daeng lies next to the railroad tracks where she lost her life. A 50-year old female elephant named Phang Daeng was killed by a train on November 7. Phang Daeng met with her tragic death on the railroad tracks near Soi Nong Krabok (Soi Greenway Golf Course). The mahout and owner of Phang Daeng, Wichien Phecharakla explained that he was anxiously preparing to go to his daughter’s wedding party in Chachoengsao. After finishing the day’s work he left Phang Daeng chained to a tree near the train tracks to feed on the grass. |
