DTAC expands global network, offers free registration in May
DTAC has expanded its International Roaming service from 75 to 79 countries and will waive the 1,000 baht registration fee for this service until May 31.
The company has signed a contract with partners in the Ivory Coast, Montenegro, Peru and Japan to extend its International Roaming service to these
countries.
This service, which is most suited to frequent travelers and those with global contacts, now spans 79 countries across six continents.
Somwong Pongstaporn, assistant chief operating officer of Total Access Communication’s commercial unit said, “Our incoming and outgoing call rates from
overseas are 37% an 22% cheaper than the competition’s.”
To celebrate the arrival of these new overseas partners, DTAC is offering a special package to new subscribers: a waiver on the 1,000 baht subscription
charge for International Roaming throughout May 2001.
In partner countries which offer 1800 and 900 network systems, DTAC customers can automatically use the International Roaming service from their mobile
phones upon subscription.
For countries with different systems, such as Japan and the United States, the company has pledged to supply International Roaming compatible mobile phones
to subscribers for up to 30 days free of charge from its DTAC Counter at Don Muang Airport, located on Level G, Building 1.
International Roaming call costs are included in the regular domestic bill sent to all DTAC subscribers.

Index Furniture Park Mall Opens

Index Furniture Park Mall, part of the Inter Furn Group from Bangkok, recently opened their new location on Sukhumvit Road opposite the Pattaya Orphanage.
Sonthaya Khunpluem, Minister of Science, Technology and Environment, and Phisid Pamthasatyasont, chairman of the board of directors at the Inter Furn Group, cut the ribbon at
the opening ceremony on May 5.
The new Index Furniture Park Mall
opened on Sukhumvit Road opposite the Pattaya Orphanage.
Phisid said, “Inter Furn Group is the largest furniture manufacturer in Thailand and the world’s largest furniture exporter. Furniture is exported to
more than 90 countries with annual sales in excess of 3-4 billion baht. We have ISO 9002 accreditation, assuring quality, and we follow ISO 9001 standards in both England and

Phisid added that, “We are celebrating the grand opening of the new showroom by offering a 10-30% discount.”

This seminar is aimed at Thai junior to middle management who need to participate in negotiations at a high level in English. The seminar will look at
various aspects of taking part effectively in negotiations, such as preparing the ground, setting the agenda, establishing positions, clarifying positions, managing conflict,
making and responding to proposals, bargaining, conclusion and agreement. During the seminar, participants will be given every opportunity to put into practice what they have

Mikasa Industries hold stone laying ceremony in Rayong
Zenjiro Siotsu, 1st row center, president of Myojyo Rubber Industry Co., Ltd., presided over the stone laying ceremony of Mikasa Industries (Thailand) Co., Ltd. at the
Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate (Rayong), developed by Hemaraj Land and Development PLC. With registered capital of 50 million baht, the new Japanese plant will produce
volleyballs, footballs, etc. Also seen in the picture are Takehisa Motoda, director of Mikasa Industries (Thailand) Co., Ltd and David Nardone, Hemaraj’s president.
