Fountain of Life
celebrate Christmas 2001 with another great show
Christmas is about giving and who better to give to
than those in need! However, this year’s Christmas Show at the
Fountain of Life Center saw those in need give a little something back
to those who have supported them throughout the past year.
The
legend of Jao Ngoh, the mischievious angel with a pure heart.
The children, staff and the sisters put on a
wonderful Christmas Show, complete with Thai flavour. The show featured
the story of Christmas with little angels singing and dancing alongside
the stars of Mary and Joseph, both of whom had obviously taken on their
part wholeheartedly, as they laid the ‘baby Jesus’ away in the
manger.
Waiting
to show their stuff
To maintain a Thai theme, some of the children sang
and danced numbers from the northeast of Thailand, ‘Catching fish’,
followed by “A trip to Suphanburi”.
The audience of Jesters MC, Pattaya International
Ladies Club members and a number of passersby looked on in joy as the
children performed to their hearts content, their way of showing
appreciation for the support and kindness given throughout the past
year.
The
dance of life, these girls put on a fabulous dance show.
Just before lunch, a special surprise as Sister Joan
and Sister Jemjit presented two of the teachers and Jester Jeff Paladeau
with a special birthday cake and a chorus of 150 children plus the
audience joined in for a round of ‘Happy Birthday’ to all three.
Santa
came to town for an early Christmas for these kids.
All the singing and dancing was enough to work up
anyone’s appetite and lunch ensued with performers and audience giving
thanks and ‘chowing down’.
A bell ringing from the roof top of the centre and
huge HO HO HO bellowing from above indicated that Santa had arrived at
the Fountain of Life and 150 children stormed the entrance as Santa
walked in throwing bags of chips and snacks to the children before
taking his seat and doing what Santa does best ... giving gifts and
bellowing MERRY Christmas!

Royal Cliff Beach
Resort says thank you “royally”!
by Miss Terry Diner
The main pool area was the venue chosen by the Royal
Cliff Beach Resort to host the annual Thank You Party thrown for the
media, travel agents and selected clients. With everyone personally
greeted by the managing director of the Royal Cliff, Panga Vathanakul
and the general manager, Andrew Wood plus other top management
personnel, the guests were made to feel “special” from the outset.

A sumptuous buffet had been prepared, consumed while
being entertained by stage acts, including many done by the Royal Cliff
Beach Resort staff themselves. Afterwards, the stage became an impromptu
dance party led by the effervescent Patti de Cruz plus the exuberant
Prince Malhotra.

With the 360 million baht improvements to the Royal
Cliff Beach Resort this year, it was also a time for the guests to
appreciate just what had been done in the past 12 months, with several
adjourning after the party to the new lobby bar to try out its many
attractions and listen to the sexy new lobby bar sextet.
My acceptance is in the mail for next year’s party!

A great turnout for
the Pattaya Sports Club end of year party
Over 300 Pattaya Sports Club members, their spouses
and guests packed into the Srivara Ballroom at the Town in Town Hotel to
celebrate the Christmas season. This annual fete has become a major
social event in the PSC calendar.
“Did
you hear the one about ...” Ron Herbert (right) and Dick Caggiano
share a joke at the party.
Guests danced to live music and vied for handsome
door and raffle prizes. The revelers partied on till midnight, until
everyone had their fill of food, drink and dancing.
Social chairman and main organizer of the event, Ken
Crow had pre-sold tickets earlier to avoid the rush at the door. This
tactic certainly did pay off as more than 280 tickets were sold prior to
the event.
Once
again, the band was great and the partiers danced the night away.
Beautiful ‘bouncer’ La Montgomery, ably assisted Mio
Aamlid, made sure everyone either had a ticket or purchased one as they
entered.
The Pattaya Sports Club’s next major event will the
annual charity golf tournament January 4, followed by their mid year
party in June.

party
