Clubs

The Association of Filipinos in Thailand - Eastern Region Chapter (AFT-ERC), led by President Virginia Sorenson, is holding their next luncheon gathering at New Orleans Restaurant, Soi Pattayaland 2, on August 11. A delicious and sumptuous BBQ-Festival (all-you-can-eat) will be prepared. Join in the fun and talk some Tagalog.

The International Lions Club of Jomtien Pattaya, an English speaking club, meets the second Wednesday of every month at the Town in Town Hotel, Central Pattaya Road at 7 p.m. President Paul Davies 038 420 960 or 01 442 2846. Pattaya Expat Club; expats helping expats. Breakfast meetings every Sunday, 11a.m. at the Astoria Resort, just off Dolphin Circle (take the small Soi just to the right of the Dusit Hotel and proceed to the end). This Sunday features a talk by Gary Kennedy of Barkley Spencer International. Gary is one of the top financial consultants in Southeast Asia and will talk about opportunities for placing money in Asia. Also discussions about ISP’s in Pattaya and purchasing a mobile phone. By popular demand Pat’s Pies Restaurant on Soi 3, Beach Road has good news for vegetarians: Pat’s Pies has introduced 4 kinds of vegetarian pies, such as cauliflower, cheese and parsley potato, potato and leek, asparagus and potato and mushroom and potato pie (suggestions welcome). Just a reminder that the 60’s Bar, Soi Regent Marina Hotel, better known as Soi Bowling, North Pattaya, offers 99 baht and 79 baht breakfast specials on Saturday, plus a regular breakfast menu and daily sandwich specials. Try the 1/2 pound burger. Rock & roll oldies radio stations are streamed live via the internet all day.

Check out the new daily specials at the Queen Victoria Inn (Soi Yodsak - 6), which include cod, chips, peas, bread and butter, beef stew and dumplings, sausage casserole, mince and tatties plus many more along with an extensive menu. The Skๅl Club of Pattaya and East Thailand invites all club members to dinner in the Chrysanthemum Restaurant, Royal Cliff Beach Resort this Saturday August 3rd from 6 p.m. for cocktails and dinner begins at 7 p.m. The special guest and host of the evening will be Khun Malai – president of Skal International Thailand. The next Pattaya Gay Festival 2002 event will take place this Sunday August 4th at Le Cafe Royale, on Pattayaland 3 from 8 p.m. Tickets are available at Le Cafe Royale. Admission 750 baht (200 baht to go to the PGF Charities). Tickets include a buffet of imported cheeses and pโt้s as well as two drinks. Everyone is welcome to come and help support the PGF charities.
