After the Jesters Care for Kids Charity Fair on Saturday
September 20, comes the Pub Night at Shenanigans, Pattaya. The Pub Night for
the Jesters Care for Kids Charity Drive follows on from the Fair and Bike
Ride (more about that later).
Andy
Francis (left) and Neil Smith last year kept the night buzzing as MC’s.
The younger children have had their turn with tugs of
war, egg and spoon races, etc., now it is time for those young at heart to
have a night out. All the fun starts at 6 p.m. with the three comperes: Andy
Francis, Neil Smith and Paul Jackson, starting the fun off with a load of
disco music, spot prizes for the lucky early birds, and Happy Hour prices
that should get everybody in the mood.
Following the opening there will be auctions of loads of
fabulous stuff that has been donated by Pattaya’s very generous community,
including a David Beckham signed football and shirt, various cricket items,
plus shirts, paintings, etc., all of which can be viewed in the bar the week
before or on the Care for Kids website. The auctioneering will be done by
the famous Eddie Hefner.
The
Sisters from the Fountain of Life enjoyed the night, even if it was just a
little too wild for them.
At 11:30 p.m. the Grand Raffle top ten prizes will be
drawn from the drum, including different airline tickets, TVs, and a whole
host of other prizes. After the raffle the evening will be concluded by
Pop’s Pattaya All Stars playing live on stage, joined later in the evening
by Pattaya’s own Rick and Harpic, who will rock you through till the early
hours of the morning.
The Pub Night is a great way to have fun and do some good
for all the beneficiaries of the Jesters Care for Kids Charity Drive, so as
well as doing some good for the kids you can have a good time doing it too.
See you at the bar on September 20.
The Jesters ‘Care for Kids’ Children’s Fair is now
only four weeks away, Sunday September 14, at the Diana Garden Resort &
Driving Range. The biggest fair yet - over 50 stalls, many attractions and
shows, children’s games with many prizes, a children’s tug ‘o war and
the popular 2nd hand book stall. So have a good old clear out and bring your
books to Shenanigans.
Pattaya Sports Club & the Jesters are sponsoring the
children’s raffle this year. Raffle prizes include Sony Play Station II;
remote control toys; color TV; DVD & VCD players; portable Hi Fi; train
set; camera and a tent for the garden. Biffo the giant bear, donated by
Pattaya Trader, is looking for a lucky winner and a new home to go to.
The Children’s Fair opens at 10 a.m. and ends at 6 p.m.
with the Children’s Raffle Draw at 3:30.
But the day starts at 8 a.m. with the 30K & 50K
Charity Bike Ride. Entry is 300 baht and includes a free yellow bikers shirt
donated by Baltex. This year the ride is for adult riders only. Twenty-one
marshals along the route will give out water donated by BT Insurance, main
sponsor of the bike ride. BPH Ambulance Unit and the Tourist Police will
take care of the riders along the way. Sponsor forms and route maps are
available at Shenanigans, so call in.
The 2003 event shirt is available at Shenanigans, Viking
Beachcomber and TQ. Just 300 baht each, or two for 500, available in a range
of sizes from the tiniest to the tubbiest.
The Mystery Spotters are out and about looking for anyone
displaying the bumper sticker. If you are spotted you could win a Carvery,
an Irish coffee or a huge breakfast at Shenanigans; dinner at the Green
Bottle or breakfast for two at the Diana Coffee Shop; an item of Jester
wear; a Panthers rugby shirt; golf balls; a voucher from Classic Tailor or a
one- year subscription to Pattaya Mail.
If you don’t have a sticker yet, get one from
Friendship, Shenanigans, Diana Inn, TQ, Pattaya Mail Office, or the
International Department at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, and display it
prominently.
Two big charity events to put in the diary. The
Children’s Fair on Sunday 14th September at the Diana Garden Resort &
Driving Range, followed six days later by the Pub Night at Shenanigans.
