Events
The Lighthouse Club (LHC) Pattaya Branch will hold its monthly
meeting on April 30 at the Hard Rock Caf้ on Beach Road. The
mezzanine floor above the restaurant has been set aside for the event and
all are welcome. Entrance fees are Bt200 for members and Bt500 for
non-members. All money goes to the charity LHC supports, the Melissa
Cosgrove Foundation. Sponsors for the big night are major Pattaya developers
Heights Holdings. The Lighthouse Club is an international benevolent fund
established to raise awareness of safety issues in construction and to
assist in the provision of safety and schooling for the underprivileged

The Pattaya International Ladies Club (PILC) Annual
Quiz Night will take place on Saturday, May 1 at the Bangkok Hospital

A BCCT Eastern Seaboard Dinner will be held on
Friday May 7 at the Ballroom of the Pattaya Marriott Resort & Spa
from 6.30 p.m. Guest speakers at the event will be H.E. Quinton Quayle,
British Ambassador, and Mark Devadason, BCCT chairman and CEO of Standard
Chartered Bank (Thai) PCL. The topic for the evening will be “Thailand’s
Political & Economic Situation”. Admission is 850 baht to BCCT members and
1,100 baht to non members and members’ guests. The price includes a full

The Rayong Ladies Circle (RLC) will be holding
their annual Charity Bazaar on Thursday, May 20 at the Eastern Star
Golf Resort Clubhouse (Ban Chang) from 10:00 until 17:00. There will be a
wide range of goods on sale from exotic orchids, household items, beautiful
rugs and carpets to handbags, jewellery, second hand books & delicious home
baking. At the front desk you can get your tickets for the continuous
raffle. The entrance fee will be 100 baht (children under 12 free) and as
well as the shopping, a tasty Thai style lunch which will be served in the
Clubhouse restaurant. The proceeds from the entrance fee along with the
money raised through raffles and vendors fees will all go to local

There will be a special talk by German psychotherapist
Barbara Barkemeyer at the North Star Library on Wednesday May 26 from
3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The talk and discussion will be on the subject of

Clubs and Associations
The next meeting of Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC)
will be on Sunday, May 2. Everyone is warmly welcome. The Club’s meeting
will be either in the newly refurbished Henry J. Bean’s Restaurant (renamed
The Tavern) or in the Rim Suan Room of the Garden Wing of the Amari Orchid

directions. The program starts as usual at 10:30 am with a buffet breakfast
available from 9:30 to 11 am. Each week the PCEC usually has an interesting
speaker to talk on various subjects of interest in an informal setting. The
talk will be followed by the ever lively and often humorous Open Forum where
questions are asked and answers given about living in Pattaya as well as an

For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand
have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the
telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates
24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate
community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will
provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the
phone. All calls will be handled on an anonymous basis and are free of

The Pattaya Music Society presents a concert of
attractive and varied music by the Brassarts Bangkok brass quintet at
