Announcements
The British Consulate in Pattaya will be closed
due to staff leave from 8-19 November. During this time, the Consular
Section of the British Embassy in Bangkok will handle consular enquiries
(Tel: 02 305 8252) and requests for notarial services (Tel: 02 305 8351).
For notarial services, the Bangkok staff will be able to advise you on the
best way to submit your documents, based on your circumstances. The
Consulate in Pattaya will reopen for normal business on Monday 22 November.
Events
The Pattaya Players will be holding their third
annual Horseshoe Point Haunted Halloween event on Saturday, October
30. The highlight of this year’s ghostly gathering will be the all-new
“Haunted Experience” - an eight station tour that takes spectators on a
spooky journey through campfire ghost tales, creepy crawlies, haunted
graveyards, witches’ incantations and much, much more! In addition to the
Ghost Tour, there will be many activities, rides and live shows for children
and adults of all ages to enjoy! All attendees are encouraged to dress up in
traditional Halloween costumes! Taking place from 6:00 p.m. onwards, tickets
will be sold at the event (on the night of) only. The admission price will
be 200 baht per person and will come with 10 complimentary tickets. For

A Lighthouse Club (LHC) charity network event will
be held on Friday 29th October at the popular Thai Garden Resort on
North Pattaya Road. This corporate network event is kindly sponsored by
Vistas Development and will run from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Guests will be
personally welcomed by Thai top-glamour model Xanny Disjad and during the
network-event a free-flow of food and drinks are available as long as stock

The Chonburi Buffalo Racing Festival 2010 will
come to a conclusion this Friday, October 22. The week-long event features
buffalo races, numerous merchandise stalls, games, activities, traditional
exhibits and beauty pageants to keep everyone entertained. For more

A British Chamber of Commerce (BCCT) Eastern Seaboard
Networking Evening will be held on Friday October 22 from 6.30 p.m. at
Shenanigans Irish Pub, The Avenue Mall, Pattaya 2nd
Road. Weston SEA and TICON will be sponsoring finger food & selected
beverages on a first-come, first-served basis from 6.30 - 8.00 p.m. Anyone
arriving before 6.30 p.m. or staying after 8.00 p.m. must cover their own

The IWICA Chess Academy is organizing the 2nd
IWICA Inter School and Inter University Chess Team Tournament
scheduled to take place on October 30 at Assumption Alumni, Rama IV,
Bangkok. All schools and universities around Thailand are invited to
participate and support this event in order to make it a successful one.
Trophies and gift vouchers worth over 20,000 baht will be on offer to the

Clubs and Associations
The next meeting of the Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC)
will be on Sunday, October 24. Everyone is warmly welcome. The scheduled
guest speaker is Bruce Gordon whose topic will be “The Law of Attraction and
How to Apply it to Every Day Living.” The Club meets every Sunday morning at
The Tavern by the Sea restaurant located on the North end of Beach Road
(part of the Amari Orchid Resort). The program starts as usual at 10:30 a.m.
with a buffet breakfast available from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Each week the PCEC
usually has an interesting speaker to talk on various subjects of interest
in an informal setting. The program is followed by the ever lively and often
humorous Open Forum where questions are asked and answers given about living
in Pattaya as well as an update on events in and around Pattaya. A full

For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand
have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the
telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates
24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate
community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will
provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the
phone. All calls will be handled on an anonymous basis and are free of

The Rotary Club Pattaya Marina meets every Friday
at 7.00 p.m. at the Pullman Aisawan, Wongamat Beach, between Soi 16 and 18

The Royal British Legion will be holding a Service
of Remembrance at 10.50 p.m. on Thursday November 11 at St Nikolaus Church
located on Sukhumvit Road. The service will be open to all nationalities and
all faiths but in order to reserve you a seat the organizers would
appreciate it if you could notify in advance if you intend to come along.
The Royal British Legion meets at Tropical Bert’s, 2nd
Road opposite the Bangkok Bank every Sunday from 2 p.m. You do not have to
have served in the UK armed forces to join but you must agree to the

Entertainment
The Pattaya Classical Guitar Festival 2010 will
take place on Saturday 23 October and Saturday 30 October at the Siam
Bayshore Resort & Spa in South Pattaya. The 2-day festival will feature
performances by some world class guitarists as well as workshops and a
guitar exhibition. Tickets for the festival are available at 400 THB for
