Rotary Club members from 14 area chapters celebrated
Christmas with a festive holiday party that also raised money for charity.
Noppadon Saengma, president of the Rotary Club of Pattaya,
hosted the Dec. 20 party at the Town and Town Hotel in Central Pattaya. The
“2nd Fellowship Party” featured a concert of Christmas songs sung by
students from Siam Sattahip School.
Rotarians enjoyed a variety of food and drinks, then
launched into charity-centric activities after the meal.
The Interact Club of Banglamung, a Rotary organization
comprised of high school students, was first up, offering tickets for Ram
Wong Thai folk dancing. The tickets could be traded in for short lessons on
the traditional dance.
After a short break to wish 13 Rotarians born during the
autumn a happy birthday, organizers drew raffle prizes. Tickets had been
sold for 100 baht each and top prizes included an LG flat-screen television
and wine donated by a Norwegian Rotary Club.
More prizes were given out to the Rotary Club with the
most members in attendance. The Rotary Club of Jomtien-Pattaya, with 18
members attending, won.
Finally, Rotarians dug deep to help out Worathai Nuangnoi,
a Class 3 student at Wat Khao Kantamat School, who has been battling
degenerative eyesight and is now nearly blind. Members put more than 7,000
baht toward her care.

from Siam Sattahip School provided beautiful musical entertainment.
Past
District Governors Premprecha Dibbayawan and Pratheep Malhotra tell the
story of 9 year old Worathai Nuangnoi who suffers from an incurable eye
disease, asking for any assistance Rotarians can give.
Members
of the Interact Club of Banglamung School go through their paces
entertaining the audience with thought provoking skits about charity, love
and kindness.
Birthday
children, sing and congratulate themselves on the occasion of their
birthdays during the autumn months of this year.
