H.E. Bede Gilbert Corry (centre), Ambassador of New
Zealand was guest of honour at the ‘NZI New Zealand Black & White Ball 2011’
organized by the New Zealand Society of Thailand at the Amari Watergate
Bangkok recently. As usual Pierre Andre Pelletier (left), the
effervescent GM of the Amari Watergate and Dermot Gale, the hotel’s
executive assistant manager were on hand to ensure that the function was a
roaring success. Guests included Khalid Bardan, manager Emirates Airlines
for Thailand & Indochina, Liz Mortensen, president of the New Zealand
Society, Nikki Cox, president of New Zealand Thai Chamber of Commerce and
Grant Signal, chief technical officer NZI.

Brett Hayes, general manager for Thailand and Vietnam of
Invida (Thailand) led his staff of 340 people to visit the Father
Ray Foundation recently, where they received a warm welcome by the
children under the care of the centre. They were treated to a game of
wheelchair basketball played by handicapped students of the Redemptorist
Vocational School. Mr. Hayes presented 45,000 baht to Udomchoke Choorat,
director of the school. In addition Invida also sponsored foundation
t-shirts valued at 8000 baht.

A Brahman priest performs a blessing ritual during
ceremonies for the laying of the structural foundations for one of the
buildings in the Dusit Thani College compound, Pattaya campus. The
ceremony was attended by Dusit International executives led by Vipada
Donavanik (right, foreground), Veera Patpathanapanich (centre), rector of
Dusit Thani College and Dusit Thani Pattaya management led by Thidsida
Shingrissiri and Teerasak Chuenchob. The newest campus of Thailand’s leading
hospitality school is scheduled to open in June this year.
Bangkok Hospital Pattaya has agreed to be the
official medical partner of the Pattaya United football team during
the 2011 season. Posing for a commemorative photo are Dr. Pichit Kangwolkij,
director of BHP, Sonthaya Kunplome president of Pattaya United and Mayor
Itthiphol Kunplome advisor to the football team.
As part of the hotel’s merit making initiatives, Supattra
Rojjanateep, director of sales and marketing of the Holiday Inn Pattaya
led a team of eighteen staff from her department on a re-visit to the
Pattaya Orphanage recently. The group had a most fulfilling day, caring and
playing with the children in the nursery. A dinner was hosted for the older
children and donations were made towards the welfare of the kids.
Harald Feurstein (left), GM of the Hilton Pattaya
and Dhaninrat Klinhom (right), marketing communications manager, were
extremely thrilled to welcome German supermodel Sarah Brandner to the
stylish new hotel on her visit recently. Sarah also brought greetings from
her close friend Bayern Munich’s superstar Bastian Schweinsteiger.
