Mother and daughter perish in South Pattaya fire

Firefighters put out the last few embers of a horrific fire that took too lives at the Music Studio in Duck Square.

A fire at a South Pattaya music studio killed a mother and her 3-year-old daughter.

Kanjana Payupat died en route to Banglamung Hospital from burns that covered most of her body. Firefighters later found the body of her daughter in the recording area of the Music Studio in Duck Square.

Kanjara’s brother, Praipana, said the May 7 blaze broke out in the back room studio and he called for help, knowing his sister and niece were still inside.

More than 10 fire engines responded to the fire. Kanjara crawled from the flames about 10 minutes after firefighters arrived.

The young girl’s American father was said to have returned to the United States for an undetermined amount of time.
