Pattaya Tourist Police capture Issan suspect in drugging-robbery

Yes, officers, she’s the one.

Boonlua Chatree

It took three weeks, but Pattaya Tourist Police finally captured a 48-year-old prostitute accused of drugging and robbing an Iranian-Canadian man last month.

Porn Phusua was taken into custody in Pathumthani where officers had traced her after Rahmatollah Karamian, 48, was drugged in his Thai Thing Hotel room on Naklua Road May 27. He told authorities he had picked up Porn and two friends at the McDonald’s restaurant in South Pattaya where they had propositioned him.

Awakened by a hotel staffer, Karamian discovered more than $6,500 in U.S. and Canadian currency, his digital camera and three mobile phones had been stolen. Porn and her friends were gone.

Apprehended by the Pattaya officers on a sidewalk in the Issan village, Porn denied the charges. But after being positively identified by Karamian and three guesthouse staffers, she said she did have relations with the Canadian, but blamed her two friends for the theft.

The other two women remain at large.
