Pattaya plans to honor HM the King’s 84th birthday
with nine events from Dec. 1-9.
Initial planning for the series of exhibits began
June 21 at Pattaya City Hall with Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome and former
Chief Privy Photographer Norm Pongkanchananukul among those attending.
The proposal calls for a commemorative coin contest,
an exhibit called 99 Photographers of the Rama IX Period, a 48-hour
English-language lesson, the 4th World for Friendship and Peace meeting,
a digital photography training workshop, a city photo competition, a
Warm Family project, a good fathers project and a language triathlon.
The nine projects are in the discussion stages and
not all may actually happen. But the hope would be to honor HM the
King’s 7th cycle with events to surround his Dec. 5 birthday.
