It’s Gala Party Night Time

Jimmy Page signs an auction item.

Lewis Underwood

We have been pleading with you since the rainout at our Fair two Sundays ago to attend our Gala Party Night at the Amari Orchid Pattaya, so we can recoup our losses. We appreciate you putting up with our vigorous PR campaign and hope it was not overdone.

Well, enough of that bleeding heart bit already. We would like you to come to our second fund-raising event simply to have an enjoyable evening. The fact that it also helps us help the kids in need is a bonus.

By the way, if you are reading this on Friday, let’s mention right now that this event is tomorrow on Saturday, September 24th at 7 p.m.

For those coming by car, we will have our own designated parking lot at the top of the Amari Orchid in the old Garden Wing, which means when you come off North Road past the Dolphin Circle going towards the beach, it is the very first left. Please look for our yellow-face logo and proceed accordingly with your admission ticket in hand.

From there it is a nice walk through the gardens and past the swimming pools down to the Aranda Ballroom. Alternatively, there will also be buggies to deliver you to the doorstep of the venue too.

The evening starts at 7 p.m. with a reception hosted by the Amari in the foyer to the ballroom. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

At 8 p.m. we will open the doors to the ballroom, so you can go to your designated tables and get ready for the international buffet. On the tables will be bottles of red and white wine, while beers and softies will be served at your table.

During dinner, we will begin with the welcoming formalities, which will then be followed by the start of the entertainment program. Our comperes for the evening will be Russell Jay Darrell and Mark Rogers from Mix 88.5 FM.

After dinner, we will start the first of the two auction segments. Bob Philp, from The Outback, who is an entertainer in his own right, will be soliciting bids for donated items, which are almost half in number from the usual fare of past years.

After another interlude of entertainment, we will wrap up the auction, which will be followed by the grand raffle drawing. We will draw the top 12 prizes publicly, including for the Honda PCX, while the rest will be drawn off line. The list of winners will be posted on the evening and in the Pattaya Mail.

Please remember that you do not have to be present to win, which is the reason we ask for your name and contact details filled in on all tickets.

The headliner, The Band of Smiles, comprised of Pop, Rick and Harpic, et al, will then perform and will conclude our entertainment program.

Ways to help us raise money on the evening are as follows:

* Buy a Gala Party Night ticket for 1800 baht, which includes complimentary reception, dinner, wine, beer and soft drinks.

* Buy GR tickets at 50 baht per or book of 12 for 500 baht.

* Bid on auction items.

* Buy event shirts for 300 baht apiece.

If you would like more information about this event and us in general, please visit www.facebook.com/jesterscare.forkids. Alternatively, you can email us at [email protected] or call Debs at 0899825814. To pre-bid on auction items, please go to http://www. jamesons-pattaya.com/auction_items.

We look forward to seeing you there!
