Rain failed to dampen the spirits at a charity event for
children in Pattaya.
On Sunday September 11, Garden International School (GIS)
students braved torrential rain and floods to make it to Diana Golf Driving
Range for the Jesters Care for Kids annual Children’s Fair.
Although the 14th Jesters fair was reduced due to heavy
rain, GIS brought back the 500 bottles it was planning to sell, and raffled
them off at school on September 15. By doing this, the students raised 3,000
baht, which will go to the children’s charities.
The IB students who did go had a great time with some
underprivileged children at the fair, which made it worth going.
The Jester’s ‘Care for Kids’ Charity Drive has been
running for 14 years. Its aim is to raise money for underprivileged children
through eight charities. The charities are: Fountain of Life Children’s
Center, the Next Step Scholarship Program, Pattaya Redemptorist School for
the Blind, Ban Jing Jai Orphanage, Khao Baisri School for the Disabled,
Camillian Home in Ban Chang, Special Olympics Thailand, Sam’s Rice
Distribution and dozens of public schools.
