A British man died less than a day after arriving for his
Thai holiday after falling and possibly drowning in his own blood.
Police were called to a hotel on Soi 7 around 2 a.m.
March 23 where they found the body of Paul Henry Lynch, 47, lying on the
floor of his 6th floor room, bleeding from the nose and mouth. Neither the
body nor room showed signs that Lynch had been attacked and all his
belongings appeared to be present.
Investigators learned Lynch was a former British police
officer who recently retired due to asthma and heart disease issues. He’d
arrived in Thailand just hours before. Police speculated he suffered a heart
attack and fell, but the Forensics Institute will make the final
determination.
