A Marine Wives Club program offering breast-milk feeding to
navy families has a new headquarters after the opening of a permanent center at
Phramaha Jessadaratchao Camp.
The Mother’s Breast Milk Center opened March 21 in a newly
built building at the Marine Corps headquarters, offering the club both office
space and room for 12 lactating volunteers to breast feed navy children.
Abbott Wisatsutakorn and nine other monks from Samae San
Temple opened the facility with a blessing ceremony.
Cmdr. Kanchana Thongruang, president of Marines Wives Club,
said the breast-feeding program has been offered since 2008. Until now, however,
activities have been held in smaller temporary offices. Seeing the popularity of
the program, Rear Adm. Sonthaya Noichaya ordered a dedicated facility built last
July.
