About 800 Sattahip students learned about
preservation of animals and natural resources from the Khao Kheow Open
Zoo.
Zoo Assistant Director Aphidet Singhsaenee led the
July 31 class for pupils from Sattahip School. The seminar is part of
the education master plan by the Zoological Park Organization in the
Natural Resources and Environment Ministry.
The goal of the workshop was to create awareness
among youths about sustainable use of natural resources, and how to live
more in harmony with nature. Animals were also used in the training to
make students more familiar with wildlife.
Activities included recycling, animal behavior,
wildlife identification, plant genealogy, a “close up” animal project
and a primer on HM the King’s sufficiency economy philosophy.
