A reception was held at the Jomtien Garden Resort
to welcome Pol. Col. Chaiyot Varakjunkiat, Chonburi Immigrant Police
superintendent to his new posting in Pattaya recently. Amongst the
dignitaries at the function were Sombut Pinyasiri (5th left), assistant
manager of the Pattaya United FC and Itthiphol Kunplome (center), acting
mayor of Pattaya City.
Family and friends joined Rainer and his bride Boonyanut
to celebrate the happy occasion of their wedding at the Montien Hotel,
Pattaya recently.

recently visited the Tulip Group’s Waterfront Suites & Residences
booth which formed part of the Siam Paragon Luxury Property Expo held in
Bangkok from May 10-20. The 6ft 11 inch NBA star, who has been working in
Thailand for the past couple of years with his basketball training academy
for youngsters, showed a keen interest Pattaya’s latest tall development
which is already proving to be a slam dunk for the Tulip Group and its CEO,
Kobi Elbaz (right). As of the beginning of May the Waterfront had sold out
60% of its units.

Andre Brulhart (left), GM of the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort,
Pattaya presided over the annual Centara Grand Mirage scholarships
presentation 2012 ceremony recently. The event was organized by Daranart
Nuchaikaew (2nd right), director of human resources of the hotel for the
benefit of the children of hotel staff. Others attending the happy occasion
included Boonmee Polyos, room attendant; Suchanya Noptakul, tailor; Thavorn
Kongtangam, gardener; Thongchai Kanchentorn, technician, Daranart and Paulo
De Matos (far right), executive assistant manager on rooms.
Holiday Inn Pattaya’s Havana Bar & Terrazzo hosted
the Latino Groove party No.7-Semana De Mayo recently. Guests adorned
themselves in the most glamorous red, black and orange themed dresses.
Professional instructors were on hand to instruct the dancers of the fiery
art of Latin dancing. Latino Groove is held monthly and the next session

At the end of a most successful Rotary International
Convention held in Bangkok in early May, Rotary International President
Kalyan Banerjee (centre left) led an entourage of senior Rotary leaders,
which included directors of Rotary International, for their board meeting at
the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel in Pattaya. Attendees included President
Elect Sakuji Tanaka (centre right) and President Nominee Rob Burton (4th row
centre). They were given an especially warm welcome by Panga Vathanakul (4th
left), MD of the Royal Cliff Hotels Group.
