More than 3,800 cadets graduated from the Naval Recruit Training Center in Bang Saray, taking up service as Royal Thai Marines.
Deputy Chief of Staff Cmdr. Maspan Tawaramorn presided over the ceremony and parade Oct. 3.
Capt. Pasworn Leksuntharakorn, deputy commander of the Naval Recruit Training Center, said 3,852 conscripts completed the two-month boot camp, undergoing theoretical and practical exercises to adapt to the military lifestyle, learn to conduct and behave properly, and focusing on weapons, loss prevention and social responsibilities.
The training also includes examination in battalion- and regiment-level techniques. Awards were handed out for top squads and individuals.
Maspan said the reports of physical education, presentations to honor the flag, and the parade prove the new marines are well trained and he urged them to use their knowledge to keep the peace.
