Theeranet and Adm. Khanat Thongphun sign the necessary documents aboard
the HTMS Kraburi, turning over command of the Royal Thai Fleet to Vice
Adm. Phijan Theeranet.

Sailors and officers welcomed the new commander of the Royal
Thai Fleet as he assumed his post on the deck of the HTMS Kraburi in
Sattahip.
Vice Adm. Phijan Theeranet moved up from deputy fleet commander at the
Oct. 3 ceremony at the Sattahip Naval Base. The HTMS Pinklao saluted the
new commander with a 19-gun salute.
Phijan takes over command from Adm. Khanat Thongphun.
Phijan blessed the assembled troops and promised to continue the mission
of his predecessor.
The Royal Thai Fleet oversees 12 units, including patrol, frigate,
helicopter, amphibious and riverine squadrons. It also oversees the
coast guard, SEALs, fleet training and support.
