Employees at the Siam Bayshore Resort & Spa turned recyclable
scraps into traditional Asian costumes as part of the hotel’s efforts to
promote environmental conservation.
The Siam Bayshore and Siam Bayview hotels for 10 years have been
organizing competitions under the Green Leaf Foundation banner to show
the utility of recycled paper and plastic waste. This year employees
created costumes representing the member countries of the Association of
Southeast Asian Nations.

Students from Pattaya School
No. 8 were invited to join the, with the hotel sponsoring coloring and
invention contests.
The kitchen staff won 1,500 baht for the best
costume.

Malinee Chantachalee won a 1,500 baht scholarship for first place in the
coloring contest. Nitaya Lungko, Mesaya Parakul and Busakorn Puthpol won
2,000 baht scholarships for their recycled “multipurpose chair.”
Engineering and maintenance manager Patcharapol Natsuwan said hotel
staff showed great enthusiasm for the Go Green event which, he said, was
held in December in honor of Environmental Day Dec. 4.
