Tennis players participating in the PTT Pattaya Open served up 10
volleys for the environment by potting trees to be planted at the Eastern
National Indoor Stadium.
Julia Goerges, Anabel Medina Garrigues, Andrea Hlavackova, Alla Kudryavtseva,
Noppawan Lertcheewakarn, Nicha Lertpitaksinchai, Tamarine Tanasugarn and
Varatchaya Wongteanchai joined Pattaya City Councilman Rattanachai Suthidechanai
and PTT Co. representative Ratch Rattanavijit at the Jan. 29 event.
Whilst at the tournament hosting Dusit Thani Hotel, they potted 10 Christina
trees as a token toward stemming global warming. The trees later will be planted
at the stadium to beautify its landscape.
Rattanachai said inviting PTT Open players to do environmental work has become a
tradition, allowing them to bond with the city and hopefully return.
