The Skål International Pattaya and East Thailand chapter held their
February meeting at the Bangkok Hospital Pattaya. This venue was a most suitable
one, with the topic being “Medical Tourism - will it be the savior for the
hospitality industry?”
The guest speaker on this topic was Dr. Pichit Kangwolkij, the CEO of the
Eastern and Southern regions of the Bangkok Hospital Group and the Hospital
Director of the Bangkok Hospital Pattaya itself.
After his address, it was obvious that many members of the Skål Club had not
realized that the Bangkok Hospital Pattaya was indeed a certified world class
hospital, and as such was in an ideal situation to attract medial tourists to
Thailand, spending their money not just in the hospital, but also in the
hospitality industry with accommodation and dining.

International Pattaya & East Thailand, raises a toast to Skålleagues.
New members and guests were given warm welcomes, including
Kate Gerits, the new GM of the Holiday Inn and Dr. Bo Mogelvang Nielsen who has
moved to the Eastern Seaboard from the USA.
An excellent buffet was presented by the Amari Pattaya, with the GM Brendan Daly
on hand to make sure it was excellent! With the Hugo Casanova wines supplied by
the Bangkok Hospital Pattaya, everyone was in a fine mood to continue networking
well into the evening.
The next meeting of the Skål club will be Saturday, March 29 at the Pinnacle
Grand Jomtien Resort & Spa, this will be a spring festival on the beach together
with the Rotary Club. Entry price is Baht 800net for Skal members and guests
inclusive of soft drinks and full entertainment from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Other
