A truck full of drunk Songkran revelers were arrested after allegedly
running through a police checkpoint and throwing beer bottles at pursuing
officers.
Police said they received a tip April 15 that a black Toyota truck from
Ayutthaya might contain illegal weapons. The truck was ordered to stop at a
checkpoint, but refused to halt. Police pursued.
Fifteen people in the truck - eight of them under age 18 - were all clearly
drunk. They showered the cops with beer bottles for nearly a kilometer. No
one was injured.
The truck finally stopped at the Marine Hotel in South Pattaya. Police
searched the vehicle and found no weapons. The teens were then arrested
inside the inn.
Arrested and drug tested were Khajornsak Bunlam, 20, Teerappong Imerb, 27,
Sakulchai Bunyung, 21, Nat Nottue, 27, Pongphet Yabamsomthat, 18, Suchada
Rawaeksom, 18, Nattawat Bunlam, 21, Hongda Sinsathan, 18, and seven
teenagers ages 13-17.
