Heavy rains back causing havoc in Pattaya

Mother Nature is back raising havoc in the greater Pattaya area, flooding streets and neighborhoods and felling trees. The latest, Monday’s overnight rain, played dominos with power poles in Naklua after a tree collapsed and fell into electrical lines. Provincial Electrical Authority officials were called in, but had to wait until city workers could arrive to cut up the fallen tree before they could restore power to the area.

The ground weakened by the downpour, the huge tree on Soi Pothisan 3 fell around 5 a.m. Its branches caught wires of one electrical pole and the force pulled down three others.
