The wife and sister-in-law of a Jomtien Beach apartment house
owner were arrested along with two men for allegedly assault and
kidnapping.
Boonam Yodthonglang, 40, and her sister Hathaipan Yodthonlang, 37, were
arrested in Buriram Sept. 22 when police rescued Thanasak Pibulsukying,
53, owner of the Mansion 73 building at the Dongtan Beach curve. The
following day, alleged accomplices Kriengkrai Panchayapumi, 25, and
Natee Sripromma, 28, turned themselves in to Region 2 provincial police.
Thanasak was assaulted and apprehended in front of his 20-year-old son
Sept. 20 at the apartment house’s rental office.
The son and his friend, Vichet Seaikhoa, told police that two men and
two women in a Toyota truck pulled up at the apartment, knocked out
Thanasak and tied his hands and feet. They then threw him into the truck
and sped away.
Neighbors who witnessed the assault told police they saw Thanasak’s
wife, Boonam, in the car and accused her of being behind the kidnapping.
Alleged accomplices
Kriengkrai Panchayapumi and Natee Sripromma turned themselves in to
Region 2 provincial police superintendant, Pol. Col. Supathee
Bungkhrong.
Police said they were right. Police said she
confessed to organizing the crime, using the two young men - customers
at her brother Parme’s snooker parlor - to snatch her husband from the
street. Thanasak was beaten, she told police, because he tried to fight
off his attackers.
The kidnappers allegedly took Thanasak to a nearby gas station where
they switched cars and took him to Chachoengsao. There they called a
friend to take the injured man to the hospital, but when the driver got
in the car, they forced him to drive to Prakhoonchai in Buriram
Province.
Boonam allegedly then sent the two men into hiding in Chachoengsao, but
they didn’t stay there long, returning quickly to Pattaya only to
discover the police had issue warrants for their arrest. Prame then
convinced the two to turn themselves in and accompanied them to the
Pattaya Police Station.
All the suspects were charged with kidnapping and assault and were
released on 100,000 baht bail each.
