Pattaya has received more than 11 million baht in funding to
resurface Sukhumvit Road in South Pattaya.
Inthana Construction Co. began work on the pothole-ridden, dilapidated
highway between sois 69 and 75 Oct. 25. Work is scheduled to finish by the
end of February.
During reconstruction, only two lanes are open for service. The construction
will add another layer of steel-reinforced concrete plus asphalt, layered
for strength and durability.
Deputy Mayor Verawat Khakhay said he’d received complains from many locals
about the holes on that stretch of road near the police station. He said the
city is aware of the importance of a smooth commute, therefore, the city has
allocated 11 million baht budget for the job.
