Numerous cars were damaged when an out-of-control crane smashed into four vehicles and a passenger bus on North Road.
No one was injured in the Nov. 13 crash near Sukhumvit Road, although a 78-year-old British man was lucky to escape with his life when the crane dislodged a street pylon which smashed into the driver’s side of his new Ford.
Prakarn Shongmhueng, the 29-year-old driver of the AEI Crane Co. crane, claimed the brakes failed and caused him to smash into two cars and two pickup trucks before smashing into the side of a Roong Ruang bus turning into the Pattaya Bus Terminal.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage and questioning the driver as they investigate further.
