City officials have signed onto a national program to
build a nationwide automated traffic control system.
Communications Minister Sophon Saram, Mayor Itthiphol
Kunplome and other land transport officials signed the memorandum of
understanding for the project Dec. 22.
The agreement details the cooperation between city
and national officials in building the system, which will use cameras
and networked computers to manage traffic flow.
When complete, people will be able to check traffic at 39 different
locations in real time over the Internet.
