Pattaya celebrated National Seniors Day eight days
early so its elderly residents could take part in the holiday
commemoration and get to enjoy Songkran with their families.
The Public Health and Environment Department and
Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome marked Seniors Day and the anniversary of the
Pattaya Senior Citizens Club April 5 with 450 elderly members and club
president Pranee Maneesan.
Itthiphol said the April 13 Seniors Day is a chance
each year to boost the morale of senior citizens and let younger members
of society show their appreciation through water blessings during the
Thai New Year.
The city offered blessings, as well as games, karaoke and stage and
dance shows.
