Sattahip’s Air and Coastal Defense Command is now
serving as a relief center to victims of devastating floods in Bangkok
and surrounds.
Royal Thai Navy Adm. Surasak Rungruengrom designated
the ACDC base as a relocation center for 400 evacuees, with the first
flooding victims arriving Oct. 27.
Navy personnel prepped the facility to provide
accommodations, food and public facilities at airstrip hangers 21 and
23. Each is able to handle 200 people. Airstrip commanders Surawong
Wongwanich and Wichu Thewrungsacha were assigned to oversee the evacuees
needs and safety.
The Navy is still accepting flood-relief donations.
