Sirindhorn’s Born to this World photography.
Warunya Thongrod
Central Festival Pattaya Beach showcased a collection
of photographs taken by HRH Princess Sirindhorn to reflect her
interactions with Thailand’s people, animals and nature.
Culture Minister Sukumol Kunplome opened the Aug.
8-20 exhibit at the beachfront mall. The second exhibition of the
princess’ photos since last September was again sponsored by owner
Central Pattana Public Co., the ministry’s Contemporary Art and Culture
Office, and the Royal Photographic Society of Thailand.
Titled “Born to this World,” the exhibit showcased
190 photographs taken by Her Royal Highness during trips around Thailand
from 2010-11. Many of the photos focus on the hardship endured during
last year’s devastating floods.
Photographic society Vice President Nittikorn
Kraiwichien said the princess has long loved art and drew pictures of
various scenes before she discovered photography.
