Police arrested two transvestite prostitutes on Beach Road for
allegedly pick-pocketing an American sailor.
Chetsada Moelae, 26, and Artorn Gijgla, 26, were apprehended by police while
trying to escape on a motorbike around 3 a.m. Feb. 20 on Beach Road near Soi
Pattayaland 1. They was caught with a wallet containing 1,340 baht belonging
to U.S. Navy sailor Anthony David Siani, 32.
The victim said he’d been walking along the beach when he was accosted and
propositioned by the two suspects. He declined the invitation but discovered
that while one ladyboy was hugging him, his wallet had been taken.
Police said the two suspects confessed. They were booked on theft charges.
Later the same evening, transvestite prostitute Anusorn Chaiyong, 27, was
apprehended by police volunteers around 1:30 a.m. Feb. 20 on Beach Road near
Soi 13. He was caught with a wallet containing 8,330 baht and a camera
belonging to Hu-in Hao, 62.
The victim said he’d been walking from the Siam Guest House along the beach
when he was accosted and propositioned by Anusorn. He declined the
invitation but discovered that while the ladyboy was hugging him, his wallet
and camera were taken.
Police said Anusorn confessed, adding that he’d successfully pickpocketed
other tourists three times. He was booked on theft charges.
