conscripts receive blessings before being sent to Thailand’s restive
south.

Royal Thai Navy officers and Buddhist monks wished more than 300 troops
well before their deployment to strife-torn provinces in the south.
Rear Adm. Luechai Ruddit, Commander of the Air and Coastal Defense
Command, presided over departure ceremony for 10 armed units of 309
conscripts March 31.
Five venerated monks from Chagmag, Tha Kum, Khao Noi, House of Priest
Kilo 8 and Sattahip temples performed religious ceremonies and presented
Prince Chumphon amulets to troops to protect them from harm.
Being dispatched are the Narathiwat Airport Security unit, ACDC units
451, 452, 491, 412, 321, the Koh Kood Operations Unit, water-motion
testers of the Koh Miang and the radar unit for ocean inspection at
Chanthaburi and Trat.
Luechai gave souvenirs to and congratulated sailors for representing the
military in carrying out special operations and instructed them to
perform their duties with strict obedience to the commander’s commands,
be strong, patient, disciplined and come back safely.
