The Pattaya Health Club and Mike Group donated 10 pieces of
equipment used in blood donations to the Chonburi Red Cross.
Banglamung District Chief Sakchai Taengho presented the blood “shakers” to
Chonburi Red Cross Chairwoman Busarawadee Ekachai Aug. 20, helping alleviate a
shortage of the key equipment at the organization.
Busarawadee said the Chonburi Blood Center Region 3 supplies blood to 50
regional hospitals in five provinces and the Red Cross is the key organizer
behind an aggressive schedule of blood drives to keep the center stocked.
The blood shaker measures blood weight while shaking it during donation to
prevent clotting. It also reports the flow of blood and adjusts it. The
equipment can also control the quantity of the blood to the standard bag level,
the amount of donation time by the donator and stabilize the shake and
aggressiveness of the blood shake to remain constant and prevent blood clots.
