Pattaya Mail celebrates 17 years

Members of Pattaya Mail’s family company prepare to make merit
on the auspiciousness occasion of the company’s 17th anniversary.

Pattaya Mail Publishing Co. Ltd. celebrated our 17th anniversary with Buddhist blessings and a party for the newspaper’s “family.”

Managing Director Pratheep Malhotra led the Aug. 8 ceremony at Huay Yai Temple with Deputy Mayor Ronakit Ekasingh and other community leaders joining about 30 Pattaya Mail employees.

Abbot Luangta Jarin Tanakaro led the ritual chanting of nine monks, who were offered lunch afterward. The staff then had their own party and meal at Somsak Restaurant in North Pattaya.

Pattaya Mail was the first English-language newspaper in Pattaya, established on July 23, 1993. Pattaya Mail TV was added in 1999. The German-language Pattaya Blatt and Chiang Mai Mail were launched in 2002.

Sheraton Pattaya Resort’s food and beverage team proudly shows off the prestigious “2010 Culinary Champion of Pattaya” award they won in the International Culinary Competition at the Pattaya Food & Hoteliers Expo 2010.

Sheraton Pattaya Resort’s food and beverage team recently won the prestigious “2010 Culinary Champion of Pattaya” award in the International Culinary Competition at the Pattaya Food & Hoteliers Expo 2010.

The team also won 9 other medals (4 gold: Bartender, Thai Fusion, European, Fusion; 2 silver: Classic Thai, Fruit Carving; and 3 bronze: Plated Dessert, Modern Canap้, and Cake Decoration).

“It was indeed one of our happiest days. The team worked so hard to prepare for the competition and they had done excellent jobs. These awards have proven the success and shown how talent our team is,” said Michael Delargy, the general manager of Sheraton Pattaya Resort.

“We’ve been receiving very positive feedback from our guests … whether they were on their holidays or for company meetings,” he concluded.
