Two people were killed when their pickup truck
crashed into a wall in North Pattaya after running through a police
checkpoint.
Pattanatham Deepin, 21, and girlfriend Juljira
Rattamontree, 18, died when their Isuzu pickup flipped on Soi Nong Yai
around 5 a.m. Jan. 15.
Passengers in the back of the truck Maneenut Kham,
16, Arada Rungjee, 17, Theerawat Prabrat, 20, and Prasit Lampeng, 19,
were all injured with the young girls sent to Bangkok Hospital Pattaya
and the two teen men sent to Banglamung Hospital for treatment.
Police discovered a bag of crystal methamphetamines
in the truck as well as a loaded handgun.
Police had been pursuing the vehicle down North
Pattaya Road. When the truck approached checkpoint, the driver veered
onto a side street, lost control and slammed into the wall.
