The Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau will urge
Asian and European businesses to “believe in Thailand” when it hits the
road to promote Pattaya as a center for meetings and conventions.
The TCEB unveiled its 2011 marketing plan Jan. 20 at
Pattaya City Hall. The two-prong strategy focuses on promoting Pattaya
as a MICE, or “meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions,’
destination. The domestic campaign carries a theme of “Confidence in
Thailand’s Readiness” while the international slogan will be “Believe in
Thailand.”
TCED Meetings Manager Waraporn Sornprom said the
organization’s 2011 road show schedule kicks off in Japan next week with
future stops planned in Australia, Dubai, Shanghai, Germany, Spain and
the United States.
Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome said the city is
gathering information on the area’s total capabilities to host large
conventions and will make a presentation to TCEB to make Pattaya its
prime recommendation to businesses on where to hold their meetings.
