more than 20 minutes as police tried to rouse a driver who fell asleep
waiting for a red light to change.
Rojanadhammasathn Sattahip Foundation medics were
called to a U-turn at the kilometer marker 1 on Sukhumvit Road Sept. 9
where a Honda car was stalled. The vehicle’s lights were on, engine
running and the air conditioning on full blast as Pichit Thetsawat, 45,
sat sleeping behind the wheel.
Police diverted the long line of frustrated drivers
behind Pichit, then tried to wake him, which they couldn’t do. After 20
minutes, officials pushed the car to the side of the road and waited for
a relative to come take the drowsy driver home.
