Soi 8 pick-pocket arrested

Crime does not pay, as this
pick-pocket discovered on December 12.
Police received a complaint from Ms. Nonglak Phophuta,
29, on December 12. She said that she had her pocket picked by a male flower
vendor on Soi 8, Beach Road. She had filed a complaint a few days before but
could now tell police exactly where the thief was. She took the police to
find the fellow, who was walking along the beach.
Officers sent a group of police out to catch the miscreant, who was looking
for more prey along the beach, and brought him to Pattaya police station for
questioning. The man, Suchart Sukhseri, 30, admitted he was a snatch and run
thief, but unfortunately had spent all of the 800 baht he had stolen from
Nonglak. He had thrown all her personal documents away at a school of which
he did not know the name. He admitted that he took to pick-pocketing as it
was an easy way to make money. The police were not impressed. He now is in
custody and awaits trial.
