Chamalai, his wife Sersri Thanusilp and alleged ringleader Waraporn
Somsakul have been arrested for dealing drugs.
Patcharapol Panrak
Sattahip police parlayed the arrest of a drug addict into the
capture of suspected drug dealers working the entire Eastern Seaboard.
Alleged ringleader Waraporn Somsakul, 29, was captured in an undercover
operation at Puanrak Karaoke in Sattahip Nov. 12. Her arrest followed
that of her alleged Pattaya agent Kittipol Chamalai, 39, and his wife
Sersri Thanusilp, 35.
A total of 327 methamphetamine tablets and 4,700 baht were seized in the
three arrests.
The operation started when a suspect nabbed on drug use charges ratted
out Kittipol as his dealer. Police persuaded him to participate in a
sting operation to buy 30 ya ba tablets for 4,700 baht on Sukhumvit Soi
75. When the exchange was made, officers swooped in.
Police then raided Kittipol’s house on Soi Khao Noi where they caught
Sersri trying to flush the ya ba pills down the toilet. Police recovered
100 pills. Police said she admitted to selling drugs with her husband in
Pattaya for years.
Kittipol was then turned around to inform on his alleged dealer
Waraporn. This time police had their informant set up a buy for 200
pills at the karaoke bar. Officers masqueraded as waiters and bar staff
and waited until the deal was consummated. She was caught with 197
pills, as police said she kept three at home as payment for delivering
the drugs.
