Fire destroyed 22 booths at the Jomtien Night Market, but caused no injuries.
Flames swept through the B and C sections of the night market at Soi 9 and
Jomtien Beach Road, engulfing many of the market’s 200 tents, booths and shops.
Firefighters took about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
Sombat Reangwong, 50, said his entire stock of bags was destroyed by the fire.
Losses for him alone were 600,000 baht with total damage estimated at more than
2 million baht.
The exact cause of the fire was unknown, but investigators are assuming it was
caused by an electrical short.
