A South Korean tourist died after apparently hanging himself in his
central Pattaya condo.
The body of Park Hyu Nok, 50, was found hanging from a rope tied to a
golf club jammed into a 2-meter-tall wardrobe at the Pattaya Plaza
Condotel opposite King Power on Sukhumvit Road Jan. 5. He’d been dead
about two days.
Condominium staffers said Park was last seen two days earlier. The death
was only discovered after a friend knocked on the door and detected the
smell.
Park’s friend said the victim visited Thailand regularly, but had been
suffering money problems and had to ask family to send him funds to
cover four months of back rent.
The room showed no signs of a dispute and police are calling the death a
suicide.
