The wily Deutchlander, Gunther
Siegel, couldn’t escape the long reach of Pattaya’s finest.
Pattaya Police and the Tourist Police, in their recently
heightened campaign to clean up the area of the criminal element, arrested
Gunther Siegel, 43, from Munich, Germany. Siegel was apprehended at Jomtien
Hotel on Sunday, October 20, for residing in Thailand without a valid
passport.
After his arrest, police were informed by Interpol that Siegel was wanted in
his home country for swindling over 1,000,000 DM. He is currently being
detained at Pattaya Police station pending further inquiries into the
allegations.
The arresting officers were Pol. Lt. Thanomsak Indrabutr and Sgt. Khunthong
U-Ngen of the Pattaya Tourist Police.
