Deadbeat German arrested for not paying bar bill
Wolfgang Werner, 42 year old German national, was
arrested after he was unable to pay his bar tab at the Formula One beer
bar in Naklua.
Raviwan Vichai, manager of the bar, told police that Werner had been
sitting at her bar, consuming beer, from 8:00 pm until 1:40 am. When it
came time for the bar to change shifts and close accounts, Werner
revealed to her that he had no money and was unable to pay his 700 baht
bar tab, so Raviwan reported him to the police.
Upon questioning at the police station, Werner admitted that he had
consumed the beer, even though he had no money to pay for it. He stated
that he was waiting for relatives to remit money from Germany. Raviwan
refused to accept this alternative, so the police filed charges.
