A Father Ray Foundation exhibition offered students from its Redemptorist Vocational School options for employment while helping the organization raise funds for a new facility in Issan.

The Aug. 16 fair at the central Pattaya school featured such booths as the “Golden Hand Programmer,” “Two Feet Earn Livelihood,” “Foot-Fit 4Thai,” “Friend Cafe,” “Market Center for the Handicapped,” “Call Center for the Handicapped,” and “Handicapped Media and Development Center for Special Children.”

Rev. Michael Picharn Jaiseri, president of the Father Ray Foundation, said the fair continues the late Rev. Raymond Brennan’s commitment to finding employment for the handicapped once they finish their education. Sponsors and supporters of this mission contributed their expertise for the eight booths at the job fair.

The event also saw the foundation’s efforts to build another Redemptorist Vocational School in Nong Khai gain momentum.

The Fr Ray Redemptorist Vocational School Alumni Association has donated 450,000 baht for the initial planning, designing and initial utilities so that construction could begin.

Bunyong Visetmongkholchai, president of Thai Pipe Co. Ltd., announced he was donating 100,000 baht toward construction of the facility, bringing his total contributions to the foundation to 4.5 million baht. He also pledged another 15 million baht over the next three years for the new school.

The foundation, however, said it needs even more money and solicited donations for the Nong Khai school, saying donations can be made at its Pattaya Moo 9 offices.
