People in Sattahip
suffered from flooding Sept 11 & 12, as did the rest of us.
Patcharapol Panrak
Pattaya wasn’t the only area to feel the wrath of
nature as heavy rains and flooding also lashed Sattahip, crippling
transportation and swamping the city’s popular market.
Many streets around Sattahip saw water as much as two
meters deep. The 700 Rai Market on Sukhumvit Road suffered some of the
worst damage as pipes backed up, paralyzing traffic and damaging cars
and motorcycles.
Mayor Narong Bunbancherdsri instructed rescue workers
from the Relief and Prevention Unit to assist drivers and clear the
damaged vehicles to get traffic moving again. The cars that could move
through the high water peeled off onto side streets.
