Police suspect a Moroccan tourist is behind last month’s burglary at a South
Pattaya hotel.
Nearly 500,000 baht in cash, jewelry and credit cards were taken from a safe
at the Siam House on So Thappraya 15. American Kenneth Gallick, 66, reported
the burglary the morning after a day-long trip Sept. 23.
After questioning staff at the long-stay hotel, police quickly turned their
suspicions to an unidentified Moroccan guest staying in the room next to
Gallick’s. The suspect, however, had already checked out.
Further inspection revealed the safe showed no signs of being forced open,
and unless the mysterious unidentified Moroccan was good at guessing
combinations, or had the master key, it is unknown how he might have been
able to open it.
