Transport Ministry officials rolled 60 cars and trucks through the Eastern Seaboard last month to celebrate the ministry’s 100th anniversary and hand out donations to handicapped victims of road accidents.

Deputy Minister Sorasak Saensombut led the contingent of 100 bureaucrats to the Pattaya Redemptorist School for the Feb. 18 presentation of prosthetic legs, wheelchairs and scholarships for students. The 50 recipients had been selected by the ministry for mostly being debilitated by motorbike and car accidents.

Afterward, the ministry’s 100 Years Rally Group prepared lunch for students and enjoyed a dance show and handicapped golfing exhibition.

The motorized caravan of civil servants moved on to Sattahip in following days for tours of Sattahip’s Sea Turtle Conservation Center and HTMS Chakri Naruebet, a visit to Nong Nooch Tropical Garden in Najomtien and the Silverlake Vineyard south of Pattaya.
